Arrest under Specific Powers

The specific statutory powers are listed in PACE and some subsequent legislation and relate mainly to the armed forces, animals, absconders, children and offences under legislation concerning immigration, road traffic, public order and so on. Many of these powers have conditions attached, for instance that the officer should be in uniform.
