Representation of children
Children who are the subject of applications for care or supervision orders (public law orders) will automatically be a party to the proceedings. In the majority of cases they will represented by a children’s guardian appointed by CAFCASS. If a competent child wishes to represent themselves and instruct their own solicitor this should be permitted.
