When the Offender is in Prison
When an offender is in prison, the victim does not have the right to know where they are. If you receive or are worried about receiving unwanted contact, including letters or telephone calls, from a prisoner, you can contact the Prison Service Victim Helpline on 0845 7585112 Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm. Calls are charged at local rates. The helpline staff will pass details of your call to the prison governor who will investigate and decide what action to take and will write to you to let you know. For instance they could monitor letters and phone calls to prevent your being contacted again.
