Working in the UK
The rules for those that wish to come to the UK to work have changed considerably, and there is a new five tier managed migration plan is intended to consolidate the various employment, self employment and study schemes into one application process that will be based on objective criteria and a points system. Implementation of the scheme has began, but it is being introduced gradually, so if you wish to come to the UK to work you may need to apply for a work permit under the old scheme, or under the new points scheme, depending on your particular circumstances.
