Harassment on the grounds of age occurs where a person engages in unwanted conduct towards you because of your own age or someone else’s age and this unwanted conduct has either the purpose or the effect of (a) violating your dignity or (b) creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive atmosphere for you.

This will cover matters like freezing you out of the working environment on the grounds of age, excluding you from social events as well as engaging in offensive jokes, unwelcome remarks about your dress or appearance, shouting at you, personal insults, persistent criticism, the setting of impossible deadlines, as well as unwanted physical contact.

The employer cannot justify an act of harassment.
